Phantoms are processes that run in the background without a terminal or PC screen. There are a number of subroutines in the subroutine library concerned with phantoms.
Look on the source code viewer option to find the source code. All the phantom functions contain the 3 characters 'TIP' in the program name.
Eg. Phantom Control Subroutine. This uses the selection function to monitor the activity of all these processes.
Phantoms can be monitored and controlled remotely from the Phantom Monitor The phantom monitor can be setup as a menu option but is also available from TCL using the TIPMAN command.
